Descripción
Shrubs ca. 1 m tall, often reclining or scandent, the stems roughly stellatepubescent. Leaf blades deeply cordate, ovate or weakly 3-lobed, more or less asymmetrical, crenate to subentire, acute to obtuse, minutely stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles 1/2-2/3 the length of the blades; stipules 2 mm long, subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 1.3-8 cm long, exceeding the subtending petioles, with pubescence like stem; involucellar bracts 8-10, ca. 1 cm long, distinct, stipitate with a broadly dilated apex 3-6 mm wide; calyx 2-2.5 cm long, stellate-pubescent, more or less inflated; petals 4-6 cm long, lavender, glabrous; staminal column ca. 2 cm long, glabrous, the filaments 1-1.5 mm long; styles exceeding the androecium, glabrous, the stigmas 1.5 mm in diameter. Capsules 15-18 mm long, subglobose, densely hispid, the hairs 2-3 mm long, straight and stiff; seeds 2 mm long, minutely scabridulous. Chromosome number: 2n = 40.A
