Subshrubs with stellate pubescence. Leaves petiolate (except sometimes the uppermost sessile), the blades ovate, cordate, crenate-dentate, acute or acuminate, markedly discolorous, lacking foliar nectaries; stipules filiform. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; involucel absent; calyx prominently 5-lobed; petals 8-20 mm long, yellowish; androecium included, pallid or yellowish, antheriferous at apex; styles 12-17, the stigmas capitate. Fruits schizocarpic; mericarps 12-17, divided into two cells, the lower cell 1-seeded, indehiscent, laterally reticulate, covered by endoglossum, the upper cell dehiscent, 1-2-seeded, laterally smooth, apically rounded; seeds minutely pubescent.
