Descripción
with a nectary at base of midrib beneath; petioles 21 times the length of the blade; stipules 4-6 mm long, subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels shorter than the subtending petioles, stellate-pubescent, articulated at the base (thus seeming inarticulate); involucellar bracts 10-12, shorter than the calyx, apically bifurcate, minutely stellate-pubescent and with a few long simple hairs; calyx 1.5-2.5 cm long, half-divided or less, green, hispid, with prominent marginal costae and nectary on midrib of each lobe; petals 5-7 cm long, lavender; staminal column 4-5.5 cm long, glabrous, the filaments 1 mm long; styles exceeding the androecium, minutely pubescent, the stigmas ca. 1 mm in diameter, purplish. Capsules ca. 2 cm long, ovoid to oblongoid, densely strigose, the hairs appressed and antrorse; seeds 3 mm long, glabrous. Chromosome number: 2n = 72.A
