Shrubs or small trees 3—10 m tall, stellate-pubescent or -puberulent to glabrate. Leaves petiolate, the blades ovate or trilobulate, cordate or truncate, crenate or serrate to subentire, acute, stellate-puberulent to glabrescent, lacking foliar nectaries; stipules subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or in few-flowered axillary umbels, sometimes apically congested; involucel absent; calyx prominently to obscurely 10-ribbed and -angled, ca. half-divided; petals (in ours) yellow, 1.5-4 cm long; androecium included, pallid, pubescent, antheriferous at apex; styles 7-11, slender, glabrous, the stigmas capitate. Fruits schizocarpic (pseudocapsular), ovoid, nearly to quite glabrous; mericarps 7-11, indurate, apically dehiscent; seeds solitary, glabrous. Base chromosome number: x = 21.A
Discusión taxonómica
Dendrosida is a genus of four Mexican species (including two subspecies) from Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero and two species from Venezuela and Colombia.A
