Descripción
Shrub (height unknown), the stems coarsely stellate-pubescent. Leaf blades up to 5 cm long, ovate, truncate to subcordate, finely serrate, acute, evenly stellatepubescent above and beneath; petioles ca. 1/4 the length of the blades; stipules 3-4 mm long, subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 0.5-4 cm long, pubescent; involucellar bracts 8-10, 9-12 mm long, 2-4.5 mm wide, stipitatespatulate, distinct, sparsely stellate-pubescent; calyx 8-11 mm long, neither accrescent nor inflated, brownish, densely hispid, the hairs antrorse, yellowish, less than half-divided, the lobes rounded-acute to obtuse; petals 1.5-2 cm long, red, abaxially coarsely stellate-pubescent, erect forming a tubular corolla; staminal column 2.5-3.5 cm long, exserted, glabrous, the filaments 2-3 mm long; styles slender, glabrous, the stigmas ca. 0.5 mm in diameter.
