Descripción
Widely branched shrubs to 2 m tall with glandular pubescence. Leaf blades mostly 6-10 cm long, ovate, deeply cordate, crenate, acuminate, very sparsely pubescent above and beneath; petioles subequal to the blades or somewhat shorter, viscid; stipules 3-5 mm long, subulate and inconspicuous. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or in lax panicles, pedicels 1-4 cm long; calyx 6-8 mm long, half-divided, yellowish at base, enclosing base of fruit, the lobes lance-ovate, somewhat spreading; corolla rotate, the petals 8-15 mm long, yellowish with a maroon spot at the base; staminal column 3-4 mm long, purplish, the filaments 2-2.5 mm long, the anthers orange; styles 5, pallid, slender, the stigmas purplish. Fruits 9-12 mm long, ca. 10 mm in diameter, more or less cylindrical, minutely puberulent (viscid?), loculicidally dehiscent (septicidal dehiscence suppressed); mericarps 5, 3-seeded, apically acute; seeds 2.8 mm long, dark brown, minutely scabridulous.
