Descripción
Shrubs 0.5-1.5 m tall, the stems sparsely stellate-pubescent becoming glabrescent. Leaf blades 5-10 cm long, ca. half as wide, ovate, deeply cordate, denticulate or obscurely crenate to subentire, acuminate, palmately 9-nerved, discolorous, softly tomentose above and densely so beneath; petioles -1 times the length of blades; stipules 7-8 mm long, subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or aggregated apically in more or less crowded racemes; pedicels 0.5-3 cm long, articulated 2-5 mm below the flowers, stellate-pubescent, more densely so above the articulation; calyx 9-12 mm long, softly and densely pubescent, more than half-divided, the lobes cordate-ovate and overlapping, less than 8 mm wide, more or less acuminate; corolla rotate, without a dark center, the petals 1-1.5 cm long, yellow; androecium included, pallid, the staminal column 3 mm long, the filaments 1.5 mm long, the anthers yellow; styles 9-11.
