Erect herbs or subshrubs, apparently unbranched, the stems green, minutely and densely stellate-puberulent, the hairs 0.1 mm long. Leaf blades up to 5 cm long, about as wide, cordate, broadly ovate, dentate, acute, densely puberulent, discolorous; petioles subequal to the blades; stipules 1-4 mm long, subulate or few- laciniate, caducous. Inflorescence a terminal leafless panicle; pedicels 4-10 mm long; flowers unknown; calyx 4-7 mm long, ca. half-divided, half the length of the mature fruit or less, minutely pubescent, more or less enclosing the lower part of the fruit. Fruits 7-9 mm long, somewhat wider; mericarps 9-10, 3-seeded, stellate- pubescent, apically acute to obtuse (with apiculum ca. 0.2 mm long), at maturity straw-colored, loculicidally dehiscent; mature seeds unknown.
