Descripción

Procumbent perennial herbs, the stems stellate-pubescent and usually also with patent simple hairs 1-2 mm long. Leaf blades up to 1.5 cm long (occasionally larger), 1.5-3 times as long as wide, ovate to oblong, cordate, crenate to the base, obtuse to acute, pubescent above and beneath; petioles half the length of the blades to equaling or exceeding them; stipules inconspicuous. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 1-2.5 cm long, slender; calyx 4-5 (~7) mm long, hirsute, the lobes ovate-acuminate; petals 5-6 (-10) mm long, white; staminal column 2 mm long, minutely pubescent, the filaments 1 mm long; styles 5. Fruits conical, pubescent; mericarps 5, usually apically 2-spined, the spines 0-0.5 mm long, antrorsely pubescent. Chromosome number: 2n = 14.A
