Descripción
Repent herbs, the stems with patent simple hairs 1-2 mm long. Leaves distichous, the blades mostly 3-6 cm long (gradually reduced distally), about as wide, cordate-ovate, markedly asymmetrical, crenate to the base, acuminate, appressed-hirsute above and beneath, the hairs simple; petioles 1/2-3/4 the length of the blades below, progressively shorter upward, the most distal leaves subsessile; stipules 2-3 mm long, subulate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 2-4 times the length of the subtending petioles, slender; calyx 5-7 mm long, markedly pentangular, the lobes trullate in flower, accrescent becoming inflated and pyramidal in fruit, setose; corolla barely exceeding the calyx, pale yellow, sometimes with a faint red center; androecium included, glabrous, the staminal column 1.5 mm long, the filaments 1.5 mm long, the anthers yellow; styles 5, the stigmas purple. Fruits 3 mm in diameter, enclosed by the calyces, subglobose, glabrous; mericarps 5, muticous. Chromosome number: 2n = 16.A
