Descripción
Subshrubs up to 0.5 m tall, the erect stems minutely stellate-pubescent. Leaf blades 1.5-4 cm long, 1.5-3 times as long as wide, broadly to narrowly elliptic, truncate, prominently serrate to the base, obtuse to acute, glabrous or with appressed simple hairs above, minutely and evenly stellate-pubescent beneath; petioles 1/4 the length of the blades or less; stipules 6-9 mm long, sometimes exceeding the petiole. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils, scattered along the stem or somewhat aggregated apically; pedicels 3-10 mm long; calyx 6-7 mm long, 10-ribbed, minutely pubescent at least on veins; corolla yellow (or rose with a yellow center), the petals 6-9 (-12) mm long; staminal column 2-3 mm long, obscurely pubescent, the filaments 1.5 mm long, the anthers yellow; styles 5-8 (-10). Fruits 5-6 mm in diameter, oblate, minutely pubescent apically; mericarps 5-8 (-10), apiculate, the lateral and dorsal walls smooth. Chromosome number unknown.A
