Erect to ascending subshrubs to 1 m tall, the stems more or less hirsute. Leaf blades mostly 3-10 cm long, up to 20 times as long as wide, narrowly lanceolate to linear, entire, acute, hirsute with simple hairs 1-2.5 mm long; petioles to 7 mm long, usually shorter, the leaves often subsessile; stipules 4-9 mm long, subulate. Flowers in terminal, corymbiform inflorescences above the foliage; pedicels 0.5-1 cm long; calyx 5-6 mm long, hirsute; corolla white with a dark red center, the petals 7-9 mm long; staminal column 2 mm long, glabrous, the filaments 1 mm long; styles 7-9. Fruits 4.5 mm in diameter, oblate, glabrous; mericarps 7-9, muticous, unornamented. Chromosome number: 2n = 14.A
