Descripción
Sprawling shrubs 1-2 m tall, the stems viscid-puberulent, without long hairs. Leaf blades mostly 6~15 cm long (smaller upward), ca. 1.5 times as long as wide, ovate to more or less 3-lobed, cordate, remotely crenate-serrate to subentire, acuminate, stellate-pubescent above and beneath, minutely so above, markedly discolorous; petioles 1/4 -3/4 the length of the blades; stipules 5-7 mm long, subulate, recurved, persistent. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 2-6 cm long, viscid; involucellar bracts 5, 1.5-2.5 cm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, alternate with the calyx lobes, densely viscid; calyx 10-14 (-17) mm long, densely viscid, more than half divided, whitish (the nerves green), the lobes acuminate, 3-5-nerved; petals 2.5~5 cm long, white (drying yellowish), abaxially stellate-pubescent; staminal column 2.5 (-3.5) cm long, pallid, glabrous, the filaments 2-4 mm long, the pollen yellow; styles pallid, slender, exceeding androecium by 6-8 mm, sometimes pubescent, the stigmas villous. Fruits ca. 1 cm in diameter, oblate, enclosed by the calyces, sparsely viscid-puberulent; mericarps prominently carinate and with raised reticulations; seeds tufted on hilum.
