Descripción
Subshrubs perhaps 30 cm tall; stems densely stellate-pubescent, the hairs 6-12- armed, 0.2-0.5 mm long, lacking glandular hairs. Leaf blades 1.5-2 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, ovate to triangular-hastate, cordate, coarsely crenate-dentate (48 dentations on each side), obtuse to acute, discolorous, stellate-pubescent above and beneath, more densely so beneath; petioles subequal to blades or somewhat shorter; stipules 2-4 mm long, filiform, caducous. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 1-1.5 cm long; involucellar bracts 5, 6-8 mm long, 3 mm wide, alternate with the calyx lobes, essentially distinct, elliptic, acute, densely pubescent; calyx at anthesis 9-10 mm long, in bud pyramidal-plicate, minutely and densely stellate pubescent, the lobes 4-6 mm wide, ovate, acute, without conspicuous venation; petals 9-12 mm long, yellow, sparsely pubescent abaxially, bearded on margins of claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column ca. 4 mm long, glabrous, apically subtruncate, the anthers few (ca. 10), yellowish, the pollen yellow; styles exceeding the androecium, pallid, sparsely hairy, the stigmas reddish. Fruits 5-6 mm in diameter; mericarps ca. 4 mm long, brown, sparsely puberulent, rounded and keeled; seeds tufted on hilum, otherwise glabrous. Chromosome number unknown.A
