Descripción
Perennial herbs 0.5-1.5 m tall, the stems, petioles, and pedicels sparsely stellate-scabridulous. Leaf blades 3-8 cm long, broadly ovate below to more narrowly triangular or hastately 3-lobed above, deeply cordate, serrate, acute or acuminate, minutely and sparingly stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles subequal to the blades below, shorter upward. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or forming a terminal raceme; pedicels 1-5 cm long in flower (slightly longer in fruit); calyx 6-12 mm long, densely stellate-tomentose, deeply 5-lobed, the lobes 1- nerved, more or less apiculate; corolla without a dark center, the petals 7-14 mm long, lavender (white on claw); staminal column 7 mm long or more, subequal to the petals, whitish, apically pubescent, the filaments ca. 2 mm long, the anthers lavender; styles 8~10. Fruits 7-8 mm in diameter, oblate, densely and minutely stellate-pubescent; mericarps 8-10, with a dorsal spur ca. 0.5 mm long, the lateral walls evanescent; seeds 3 mm long, glabrous, endocarp absent.
