Descripción
Erect herbs 1 m tall, the stems, petioles, and peduncles minutely scabridulous. Leaf blades up to 10 cm long (progressively smaller upward), basally cordate, usually palmately 3-lobed, the central lobe lance-ovate to linear-lanceolate, serrate to obscurely crenate, acute, concolorous, evenly and minutely stellate-pubescent; petioles 1/2-1 times as long as the blades. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or somewhat aggregated apically; pedicels often equaling or exceeding the subtending leaves; calyx 7 mm long in flower, accrescent to 10 mm long in fruit, evenly stellate- pubescent; corolla without a dark center, the petals 11-14 mm long, lavender; staminal column 7 mm long, pallid, densely hispid, the filaments 1.5 mm long, the anthers sometimes lavender; styles ca. 10. Fruits ca. 1 cm in diameter, oblate, stellate-pubescent; mericarps ca. 10, dorsally spurred, the spur ca. 0.5 mm long, the lateral walls evanescent; seeds 3 mm long, endocarp absent.
