Descripción
Erect perennial subshrubs ca. 1 m tall, branching principally in the inflorescence, the stems with patent simple hairs 0.5-1 mm long and with understory of shorter more or less glandular hairs. Leaf blades up to 12 cm long, gradually reduced and much narrower upward, rotund-ovate, cordate, dentate, caudate-acuminate, minutely and softly tomentose above and beneath, essentially concolorous; petioles subequal to the blades or somewhat shorter upwards. Flowers occasionally solitary in the leaf axils but usually in an open terminal panicle; pedicels 1-5 cm long, with pubescence like stem, lacking articulation; calyx 5-7 mm long, less than half-divided, the lobes broadly triangular, more or less acuminate, with darkly pigmented midrib; corolla without a dark center, the petals ca. 1 cm long, pale yellow (drying rose), prominently bearded on claw; staminal column ca. 6 mm long, with recurved hairs, the filaments 3-4 mm long; styles 5, slightly exceeding androecium, subequal to petals, pallid, the stigmas sometimes reddish. Fruits ca. 6 mm in diameter, oblate, minutely pubescent; mericarps 5, dorsally rounded; seeds 3 mm long, minutely appressed-pubescent, without enclosing endocarp. Chromosome number: 2n = 30.A
