Description

Erect succulent herbs 1.5 m tall, the stems hollow, essentially glabrous. Leaf blades up to 11.5 cm long (smaller upward), palmately 3-5-lobed, basally cordate (the sinuses narrowly acute), the central lobe broadly ovate, basally narrowed (the sinuses rounded), glabrous; petioles subequal to the blades; stipules 5-7 mm long, ciliate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels up to 13 cm long (subequal to the subtending leaves at anthesis); calyx 10-12 mm long, externally glabrous or with a few pungent hairs, internally woolly; corolla without a dark center, the petals 15-16 mm long, yellowish, densely bearded on margins of claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column ca. 3 mm long, pallid, with a few hairs apically, filaments 2-3 mm long, the anthers yellowish; styles pallid, of uncertain number.
