Descripción
Dioecious trees 7-15 m tall, the stems brown-puberulent becoming glabrate. Leaf blades mostly 10-17 cm long, 2.5-4 times as long as wide, narrowly elliptic, cuneate, acute or acuminate, glabrate, with 3 small nectaries on principal veins beneath, domatia present; petioles 1/8-1/2 the length of the blades. Flowers 1-5 in the leaf axils; pedicels 3-6 cm long, slender, somewhat puberulent to glabrate; involucellar nectaries absent; involucellar bractlets 3, 2-10 mm long, subulate, persistent; calyx 4-8 mm long, basally yellowish puberulent, glabrate on distal margin; petals 1-1.5 cm long; staminal column ca. 1 mm long, the filaments of staminate flowers 5-8 mm long. Capsules 1-2 cm long, globose, 3-loculed, externally greenish puberulent, internally glabrous except white-pubescent along suture of dehiscence; seeds 8-10 mm long, solitary, dark brown to black.
