Descripción
Robust herb to 1.5 m tall, the stems green and sparsely hispid. Leaf blades up to 14 cm long, progressively reduced upward, palmately 5-lobed below to narrowly lanceolate above, more or less cordate, coarsely serrate, acute, obscurely stellate pubescent (the hairs dimorphic); petioles 1/3 the length of the blades or less. Inflorescence paniculate; pedicels 1-2.5 cm long, minutely scabridulous; involucellar bracts 6-8, 2-3 mm long; calyx 4 mm long, pale green with dark green margins; corolla rotate, the petals 10-12 mm long, lavender with a sharply delimited yellow base, abaxially stellate-pubescent, adaxially glabrous (including the claw); staminal column ca. 8 mm long, glabrous, bright yellow, the filaments ca. 0.5 mm long; styles glabrous, the stigmas pallid.
