Descripción
Shrubs 1-2 m tall, widely branching, the branches slender, purple-pigmented at the nodes, stellate- and obscurely glandular-pubescent and usually also with long (1 mm) simple hairs. Leaf blades 5-9 cm long (smaller upward), ovate, cordate, finely serrate, acute to acuminate, minutely stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles -1 times as long as the blades. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or in few- flowered axillary cymes, scattered along the slender stems; pedicels usually 1-2 cm long, slender; calyx 6-8 mm long, densely stellate-pubescent, the hairs 0.1-0.2 mm long, usually also with longer (to 1 mm) simple hairs on calyx or pedicel or both; petals ca. 9 mm long, whitish to pale lavender, slightly connate basally, densely bearded-tomentose on claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column nearly obsolete, the filaments 4-6 mm long, the anthers pale lavender, the pollen yellow; styles 3.
