Descripción
Shrubs ca. 1 m tall, the stems glandular-puberulent, essentially lacking nodal pigmentation. Leaf blades mostly 4-6 cm long (smaller upward), ovate, cordate, crenate-serrate, acuminate, minutely stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles subequal to the blades. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 2-4 cm long, slender, glandular-puberulent; calyx 7-9 mm long, minutely stellate- and glandular- puberulent, lacking long simple hairs, ca. half-divided, each lobe with a distinct midrib; corolla pale lavender with a white center, the petals 8-12 mm long, the claws bearded with adjacent margins coherent by interlocking hairs, otherwise glabrous; staminal column ca. 1 mm long, the filaments ca. 6 mm long with minute hairs at point of insertion; styles 3. Fruits ca. 6 mm in diameter; mericarps 3, usually 3-seeded; seeds ca. 2 mm long. Chromosome number unknown. A
