Descripción
Shrubs 1-2 m tall, the stems often evenly purplish pigmented, with very fine stellate tomentum, the hairs whitish and less than 0.1 mm long. Leaf blades up to 7 cm in 3; (often much smaller), ovate, cordate, obscurely crenate to subentire, acuminate, finely tomentose above and beneath; petioles ca. half as long as the blades. Inflorescence more or less racemose, the flowers solitary in the leaf axils or few-flowered axillary cymes; pedicels usually 4-8 mm long (rarely to 20 mm); calyx 5-6 mm long, finely stellate-puberulent; petals 5-7 (-9) mm long, hirsute on margin of claw, otherwise glabrous, whitish to pale lavender; staminal column nearly obsolete, the filaments 3-5 mm long; styles 3.
