Descripción
Spreading shrubs 0.5 (-1.5) m tall, the stems with dense glandular pubescence and also simple hairs 1-3 mm long. Leaf blades mostly 4-6 cm long, broadly ovate, deeply cordate (sinus almost closed), dentate, acuminate, with stellate and simple hairs above, dense stellate hairs beneath, nearly concolorous; petioles subequal to the blades; stipules 8-10 mm long, filiform. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or aggregated into terminal racemiform inflorescences; pedicels up to 4 cm long (shorter upwards and often less than 1 cm long), viscid; calyx 10-12 mm long, viscid with glandular hairs and also with stellate hairs and long simple hairs 1-1.5 mm long, ca. half-divided, the lobes acuminate-apiculate, with a prominent midrib; petals ca. 1 cm long, white or pale yellow; staminal column 2.5 mm long, the filaments 1.5 mm long; styles exceeding the androecium. Fruits §-10 mm long, stellate-pubescent; mericarps apically spinescent, the spine 2.5-3.5 mm long, with endoglossum completely dividing mericarp into two cells; seeds 2.5 mm long, dark brown.
