Descripción
Erect subshrubs ca. 1 m tall with soft stellate pubescence. Leaf blades mostly 8- cm long, more or less 3-lobed (or simply ovate distally), deeply cordate, dentate, acuminate, somewhat discolorous; petioles 1/3-1 times the length of the blades; stipules 8-10 mm long, subulate or filiform. Flowers occasionally solitary in the leaf axils, usually paniculately disposed; pedicels 1-4.5 cm long; calyx 7-10 mm long, densely pubescent with long simple (1-1.5 mm) and short stellate and glandular hairs, the lobes acuminate to caudate; petals 1-2 cm long, white (fading rose) or sometimes yellowish; staminal column 3 mm long, the filaments 3 mm long; styles slightly exceeding the androecium, pallid, the stigmas reddish. Fruits 1 cm in diameter, oblate; mericarps apically rounded, with a small apical umbo, indistinctly constricted below, without an endoglossum or sometimes with a rudimentary one; seeds ca. 2.5 mm long, blackish.
