Descripción
Perennial subshrubs ca. 0.5 m tall, the stems branching freely, densely whitish to ferrugineous-tomentose. Leaf blades mostly 2-4 cm long, deltate-ovate, trun cate, undulate-crenate, obtuse to acute, densely grayish or yellowish tomentose above and beneath. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or in a few-flowered terminal raceme; pedicels shorter than the calyces, stout; involucellar bracts up to 6 mm long, linear; calyx 7-12 (-18) mm long, densely pubescent, often ferrugineous; petals 1.5-2 cm long, orange; staminal column ca. 4 mm long, more or less glabrous, the anthers yellowish; styles 18-20, sometimes purplish. Fruits 12 mm (or more) in diameter, oblate; mericarps 18-20, 7-8 mm long, usually 2-seeded, fully dehiscent, the lateral walls smooth. Chromosome number unknown. A
