Descripción
Perennial subshrubs, the stems erect or ascending, densely yellowish pubes cent. Leaf blades mostly 2-6 cm long, 1-2 times as long as wide, ovate or oblong ovate, sometimes trilobulate, truncate to cuneate, more or less crenate, obtuse or subacute, densely stellate-pubescent above and beneath. Inflorescence racemiform, interrupted and many-flowered; pedicels shorter than the calyces; calyx 7-10 mm long, deeply divided, minutely yellowish pubescent; petals 10-15 mm long, orange or orange-pink, short-clawed; staminal column 3-4 mm long, pubescent, the pollen yellow-orange; styles ca. 15. Fruits ca. 6 mm in diameter, oblate; mericarps ca. 15, ca. 4 mm tall, 1-2-seeded, apically rounded, partially dehiscent, the lower (indehiscent) part laterally chartaceous and strongly reticulate, subequal to upper part; seeds more or less pubescent.
