Descripción
Shrubs or small trees to 3 m tall, the stems moderately stellate-tomentose. Leaf blades mostly 8-15 cm long, deeply 5-lobed (the lobes ovate or lanceolate), cordate, entire, acute, discolorous, densely pubescent beneath, sparsely so above; petioles mostly subequal to the blades; stipules 4-6 mm long. Inflorescence an open many-branched axillary panicle; pedicels 1-2.5 cm long; calyx 5~7 mm long, divided nearly to the base, the lobes lanceolate, minutely puberulent, somewhat reflexed in fruit; petals 6-12 mm long, white, glabrous throughout (including claw); staminal column 2-4 mm long, glabrous, the stamens 25-40, the filaments 2-3 mm long; styles 10-15, glabrous. Mericarps 10-15, 8-10 mm long, inflated, stellatepubescent; seeds 2 mm long, sparsely scabrous. Chromosome number unknown.A
