Descripción
Trees to 25 m tall, the stem hairs mostly sublepidote, extremely small. Leaf blades mostly 9-22 cm long, ovate or slightly lobulate, subtruncate to cordate, remotely dentate or undulate to subentire, acute or acuminate, the lower surface with minute lepidote hairs or glabrate; petioles 1/2-1 times the length of the blades; stipules 2 mm long. Flowers in axillary panicles equaling or exceeding the subtending petioles; pedicels 0.5-1.5 cm long; calyx 7-8 mm long, divided nearly to the base, minutely lepidote-pubescent; petals 8—10 mm long, white with purplish veins, ciliate on claw and on margin, otherwise glabrous; staminal column 2 mm long, glabrous, the stamens 40-50, the filaments 2-3.5 mm long; styles ca. 30, glabrous. Mericarps ca. 30, 7-8 mm long, minutely stellate-pubescent, the walls connate about the seed; seeds 1.8 mm long, in center of mericarp, minutely pubescent. Chromosome number unknown.A
