Descripción
Shrub of unknown stature, the stems densely yellowish tomentose becoming glabrate in age, the hairs stellate, 5-10-armed. Leaf blades up to 5 cm long, palmately 3-5-lobed or pentangular, cordate, coarsely crenate, obtuse to subacute, moderately tomentose beneath, sparsely so above; petioles 1/2-1 times the length of the blades; stipules 4-9 mm long. Peduncles 1.5-4 cm long, axillary, uniflorate, articulated ca. 1 cm below the flowers; involucellar bracts 10~14 mm long, 6-8 mm wide, densely tomentose, sessile, broadly ovate, enclosing bud, caducous at anthesis; calyx 10-12 mm long, densely yellowish tomentose, the calyx lobes rounded and slightly apiculate, 3-nerved; petals 2-3 cm long, lavender, pubescent at base of claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column ca. 1 cm long, the filaments often less than 1 mm long, the pollen yellow-orange; styles ca. 20, the stigmas obliquely capitate, pallid.
