Descripción
Shrubs, the flowering branches slender, densely stellate-canescent, becoming moderately tomentose on older twigs. Leaf blades mostly 4-12 cm long, about as wide, shallowly 3- to moderately 5-lobed, cordate, crenate or dentate, acute, stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles ca. half the length of the blades; stipules 4-8 mm long. Peduncles 3-5 cm long, axillary, supporting a 2-6-flowered umbel, or the flowers sometimes solitary, the pedicels 1-2 cm long; involucellar bractlets 6-11 mm long, 1-4 mm wide, lanceolate, somewhat irregularly inserted below the calyx, caducous; calyx 10-14 mm long, densely pubescent, the lobes acute or slightly acuminate; petals 2-3 cm long, apically notched, lavender, densely pubescent on margin of claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column 7-9 mm long, the filaments 1-2 mm long, the pollen pale yellow; styles 12-16, glabrous, the stigmas capitate (often obliquely so). Fruits 12-14 mm in diameter, oblate; mericarps 12-16, 8-11 mm long, stellate-pubescent; seeds 2 mm long. Chromosome number unknown.A
