Descripción
Trees to 6 m tall, the twigs minutely pubescent appearing glabrate. Leaf blades 8-12 (-17) cm long, 1.5-2.5 times as long as wide, ovate to lanceolate, truncate, crenate to subentire, acute, concolorous, essentially glabrous except for tufts of white hairs (0.5~1 mm long) in the axils of the main veins beneath; petioles 3-8.5 cm long; stipules 3-4 mm long. Flowers usually solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 1- 4 cm long (subequal to subtending petioles), slender; calyx 8-10 mm long, glabrous abaxially, minutely wooly adaxially; petals ca. 1.5 cm long, yellow, ciliate on mar- gins of claw, otherwise glabrous; filaments 1-1.5 mm long, the anthers yellow; styles 7-8. Fruits ca. 7 mm in diameter; mericarps 7-8, 5-6 mm long, laterally smooth; seeds ca. 3.5 mm long. Chromosome number unknown.A
