Descripción

Subshrubs 1-2 m tall, more or less branched, stellate-pubescent, the hairs frequently stipitate (especially on younger growth). Leaf blades mostly 4-11 cm long (smaller upward), ovate-triangular (broadest at the base), shallowly cordate, entire (the margins straight), acute, markedly discolorous, glabrate on upper surface; petioles 1/4-1/2 the length of the blades, shorter upward and the leaves almost sessile; stipules 4-5 mm long, subulate. Inflorescence a more or less leafless panicle; pedicels 1.5-5.5 cm long; calyx 2.5-3 mm long; petals 3-4 mm long, yellow or white, sometimes white with a dark red basal spot; filaments longer than the pallid staminal column.
