Descripción
Subshrubs to 2 m tall, usually unbranched below the inflorescence, minutely whitish puberulent and with more prominent stipitate stellate hairs especially at distal end of petioles. Leaf blades mostly 5-11 cm long (smaller upward), broadly ovate (widest at the base), deeply cordate (except truncate in the reduced leaves of the inflorescence), rounded and entire, acuminate, discolorous; petioles subequal to the blades below, leaves almost sessile in the inflorescence; stipules 7-12 mm long, filiform. Inflorescence an open terminal panicle, essentially leafless; pedicels 1-4 cm long; calyx 3 mm long, about half-divided; petals 5 mm long, yellowish; androecium yellowish, the filaments longer than the staminal column. Mericarps 3-5, 6-7 mm long, medially constricted, minutely puberulent; seeds 2.5 mm long, patchily pubescent. Chromosome number: 2n = 14. A
