Descripción
Shrubs 1 m or more tall, the stems strictly erect, purplish, densely and softly pubescent in leafy portion with hairs 1-1.5 mm long, with fewer and shorter hairs upwards to inflorescence. Leaf blades to 10 cm long, almost as wide, crenate, acuminate, discolorous, sparsely pubescent above, densely tomentose beneath, the nerves purplish above; petioles densely hairy. Inflorescence a leafless terminal panicle, the branches purplish; pedicels 1-2.5 cm long; calyx 4-7 mm long, ecostate, ca. half-divided, minutely pubescent; petals 8-19 mm long, stellate-pubescent on margins of claw; staminal column 2-3 mm long, pallid, the filaments 3 mm long; styles 12—14, glabrous, purplish, the stigmas pallid. Fruits 8~-9 mm in diameter, minutely strigose; mericarps 12-14, 3-seeded, the upper cell with 2 superposed seeds; seeds 2.5 mm long, minutely hispidulous. Chromosome number unknown. A
