Descripción
Shrubs 1-1.5 m tall, frequently with distichous branching pattern, the stems minutely stellate-tomentose. Leaf blades ovate to oblong, cordate, serrate, acute, minutely stellate-pubescent above and beneath; petioles 1/4-1/2 the length of the blades. Pedicels exceeding the subtending petioles; calyx 8-10 mm long, tomentose, the lobes somewhat apiculate; petals 12-15 mm long; styles 25-30. Fruits 1.5- 2.5 cm in diameter, subglobose, minutely pubescent; mericarps 25-30, compressed, thin and papery, reniform; seeds 2.5 mm long, densely puberulent. Chromosome number: 2n = 12.A
