Descripción
Erect herbs to 2 m tall, the stems finely stellate-pubescent. Leaf blades 3-4 cm long, ovate-oblong, cordate, denticulate, obtuse to acute, stellate-tomentose; petioles subequal to the blades. Inflorescence a terminal panicle more or less above the leaves, with short glandular hairs and long (1.5 mm), simple, non-glandular hairs; pedicels 0.5-1.5 cm long; calyx 4-5 mm long, glandular- and stellate-pubescent, ca. half-divided; petals 8-10 mm long, orange-yellow, slightly reflexed, pubescent on margin of claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column 2.5 mm long, prominently pubescent, the filaments 1-2 mm long; styles ca. 10. Fruits 6 mm long, 8 mm in diameter, oblate, basally glabrous, distally pubescent (the hairs bifurcate); mericarps 10-11, the lateral walls prominently reticulate below, smooth above, the dorsal wall smooth, minutely umbonate apically (but lacking a wing), partially dehiscent ventro-apically, 1-seeded; seeds 2.5 mm long, solitary, pendulous in base of carpel, minutely verruculate.
