Subshrubs 1-3 m tall, widely branched, pubescent or glabrescent. Leaf blades mostly 4-10 cm long (smaller upward), 3-7-lobed, truncate or cordate, crenate, acute, stellate-pubescent to glabrate; petioles mostly 2/3-1 times the length of the blades; stipules 4-5 mm long, lanceolate. Flowers in lax terminal panicles with or without leaves; pedicels longer than the calyces; involucellar bracts 2-3.5 mm long; calyx 5-7 mm long, broadly campanulate, deeply 5-lobed, stellate-pubescent; petals 4-7.5 mm long; staminal column conical, the filaments longer than the column; styles 10-13. Fruits 5 mm in diameter; mericarps 10-13. Chromosome number: 2n = 32.A
