Descripción
Stems procumbent, with simple hairs 1-1.5 mm long and also smaller stellate hairs. Leaf blades 2.5-4.5 cm long, about as wide, ovate, cordate, prominently and coarsely crenate, obtuse or subacute, discolorous, stellate-tomentose above and beneath; petioles mostly 1/4-1/2; the length of the blades; stipules 4-5 mm long, subulate. Flowers usually solitary in the leaf axils; pedicels 0.5-1.5 cm long, shorter than to exceeding the subtending petioles, slender; calyx ca. 7-8 mm long in flower, accrescent to 12 mm in fruit, stellate-pubescent, inflated, ca. half-divided, the lobes acuminate, the whole becoming reticulate-membranous at maturity; flowers sometimes cleistogamous; petals ca. 5 mm long, equaling or barely exceeding the calyx, glabrous except densely ciliate on claw; staminal column pallid, glabrous, bearing filaments apically, the anthers 10; styles 5, glabrous, reddish.
