Descripción
Ascending or procumbent subshrubs generally less than 0.1 m tall, softly stellate-pubescent more or less throughout. Leaf blades 0.5-1.5 cm long, about as wide, cuneate, dentate to subentire, lacking foliar nectaries; petioles mostly 2-6 mm long; stipules subequal to the petioles, prominent, persistent, broadly oblanceolate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils, subsessile; involucel absent; calyx 5-7 the calyx, pale mm long, deeply divided, the lobes narrowly triangular; petals somewhat exceeding yellow, marginally pubescent on claw, otherwise glabrous; androecium included, pallid, antheriferous at apex, the column pubescent, the anthers ca. 20; styles 5, pallid, subequal to petals, the stigmas capitate. Fruits schizocarpic, ca. 4.5 mm in diameter, included in the calyces; mericarps 5, elliptic in cross section, with dorsal keel and apical spine 1-1.5 mm long; seeds solitary, pendulous.
