Shrubs 1-2 m tall, the stems densely stellate-pubescent. Leaf blades mostly 6- cm long, broadly ovate or weakly 3-lobulate, cordate, serrate, acute or acuminate, minutely pubescent, more densely so beneath than above, somewhat discolorous; petioles 1/2-1 times the length of the blades; stipules 8-10 mm long. Flowers in few-flowered axillary umbels, these often aggregated into a terminal compound inflorescence, peduncles 1-5 cm long, pedicels usually 1-2 cm long; calyx 68 mm long, basally rounded, half-divided, the lobes triangular, prominently hirsute; the hairs 3-4 mm long; corolla rotate, without a dark center, the petals 6-8 mm long, yellowish; staminal column 3-4 mm long, the filaments 1-2 mm long, the anthers yellow; styles 6-8.
