Descripción
Perennial herbs up to 1 m tall, the stems with scattered coarse pubescence. Leaves long-petiolate below (the petioles up to 5 times the length of the blades) to short-petiolate near the inflorescence (the petioles shorter than the blades), the blades 2-4 cm long basally, orbicular in outline, crenate at base to deeply palmately dissected and smaller above, the ultimate divisions linear, hirsute beneath, sparsely so to glabrate above. Inflorescence a terminal leafless raceme, the flowers pedicellate and bracteate; calyx 7-8 mm long, coarsely hirsute, half or more divided, the lobes acuminate; petals 1.5-2 cm long, rose-pink (rarely white), pubescent on claw, otherwise glabrous; staminal column ca. 5 mm long, hispid; styles 8- 9. Fruits 5 mm in diameter, oblate; mericarps 8-9, ca. 3 mm long, smooth to finely reticulate, glabrous or nearly so. Chromosome number: 2n = 20. A
