Descripción

Geophytic herb, procumbent, sub- terranean organs 25–35 cm long; stems slightly ribbed with 1–2 subterranean internodes, swollen nodes, 10 mm long; aerial internodes slightly geniculate, (3–)4–5cmlong,and sparsely covered with septate trichomes. Petioles terete, (0.7–)0.8–1 × 0.1–0.2 cm, green, sometimes pink-purple, sparsely covered with septate trichomes. Leaf blades ovate, discol- orous, base cordate, apex obtuse slightly acute, (4.0–)5.0–6.5(–8.0) × (3.2–)4.5–5.5(–6.8) cm; palmatinerved, actinodromous, in young leaves basal veins purple-pink, margin entire; adax- ial leaf side green, bullate, with sparse tomentose tufts and sparse septate trichomes, 0.7–1 mm long with acroscopic ori- entation; abaxial leaf side pale green, reticulate, veins pale yel- low with dense septate trichomes, especially along the veins. Flowers axillary, solitary, peduncle 9–15 × 0.4–0.6 mm. Bract lanceolate, 0.3–0.4 × 0.15–0.3 cm. Perianth geniculate, (1.1–)1.5–2cm long, pale yellow becoming purple toward the limb, veins brown-orange, sparse septate trichomes along the veins; utri- cle obloid, (0.37–)0.4–0.5 × (0.2–)0.3–0.5 cm, internal surface yellow with purple dots, covered with moniliform mucilagi- nous trichomes; tube bent 70°–90°, basally straight, widened toward the limb, 3–4(–9) × 1–2 mm, internal surface with white uniseriate trichomes, 0.4–0.3 mm long; limb obovate, slightly cordate at the base, apiculate at the apex, 0.7–2× (0.5–)0.7–1.25 cm, dark purple, covered with fimbriate tri- chomes, in lateral view cup-shaped; throat ovate, dark purple, covered by small white trichomes, 0.5 mm long; syrinxinfundibuliform, slightly eccentric, 2.7 mm long, 2.5 mm wide at the base and 0.8 mm wide at the apex. Gynostemium coroniform, stipitate, 4 × 2 mm, stipe 0.8–0.3 mm long, stig- matic lobes 5, 0.6 mm long, anthers 5, 0.7 mm long. Ovary inferior, lanceolate, 7–9 × 3.5–5 mm, with sparse septate tri- chomes. Fruit a capsule, purple when young, mature fruit not seen; seeds not seen.A
