Descripción
Liana. Petioles 2.5–7.0 cm long, without pseudostipules. Leaf blades suborbiculate, cordiform to widely triangular, apex obtuse to retuse, base auriculate, 6.0–12.0 long 4.0–10.0 wide cm. Flowers axillary, solitary; flower peduncles 5.0–7.0 cm long. Perianth 10.0–14.0 cm long; utricle obovoid; tube bent 150–170, tubular; limb trullate, long attenuate at the apex, rounded at the base; limb color dark purple, around the throat vinaceous.A

Michoacán: a 5-minute decoction of stems (pieces of approximately 10 cm) in half a liter of water is used to treat bile reflux. Leaves are added to treat colic or diarrhea (Arizaga et al. 2018); decoction of roots and branches or the whole plant is drunk against scorpion stings; the decoction of the leaves is used against bone pain.A
