Discusión taxonómica
Asplenium obesum agrees with A. lamprocaulon in having dark, lustrous stipes and rachises, but differs by the characters mentioned above. Its distinctiveness and rarity are reinforced by the fact that it has been described three times, the only collections known for the species.A
