Rhizomes compact, horizontal, 2-3 mm diam; rhizome hairs reddish tan, 3-4 mm long, rigid; fronds hemidimorphic, 25-28 cm long, approximate; stipes slightly over 1/2 frond length, terete, 1-1.5 mm diam, stramineous, tomentose; blades deltate, once-pinnate, apex pinnatifid, (3.5-)5-17.5 x (3.5-)5-11 cm, trun cate at base, chartaceous; sterile pinnae (4-8 pairs in A. pohliana) 10-15 pairs, narrowly lanceolate-deltate, dimidiate, adnate only most distally, margin crenulate serrulate, apices acuminate, hairs rather dense on rachises, scattered on pinnae, margins not thickened; veins free, costae present, prominulous adaxially; fertile pinnae approximate to sterile pinnae, erect, exceeding sterile blade, petiolate ca. 1/2 their length, hirsute; spores 35-42 (avg. 40) µm diam, 66-81 (avg. 77) µm diam (A. pohliana 33-51 (avg. 42) µm diam), (A. palmarum 57-64 (avg. 61) µm diam), angles rounded, ridges narrow, baculate, distant.A
