Similar to S. elegans except: sterile segments linear, only 1 mm wide (vs. 1–2.8 mm), the fertile fronds dimorphic, 2–3 times longer than the sterile (vs. about equal in length), and the fertile pinnae (1–)1.5–4 cm long (vs. 0.5–1.2 cm).A
