Descripción
Rhizomes long-creeping, to 10 mm diam.; rhizome scales brown, ca. 6 X 4 mm, entire; fronds subdistant, 50–140 cm long; stipes 20–80 cm X 3–10 mm, those of sterile fronds ca. 1⁄2 the sterile frond length, those of fertile fronds nearly 2⁄3 the fertile frond length, with scattered scales; sterile blades firmly chartaceous, ovate to elliptic, 25–60 X 20–50 cm, pinnate, each blade with a conform terminal pinna, not proliferous; sterile pinnae (0–)2–6 pairs, proximal pinnae stalked, somewhat unequally elliptic, with cuneate bases and acuminate apices, margins entire to obscurely undulate; veins finely areolate, areoles with excurrent and recurrent, often branched, free veinlets; fertile blades once-pinnate, 12–45 cm long, with 1–3 pairs of lateral pinnae and a slightly larger terminal pinna; sporangia covering the abaxial surfaces of fertile blades; 2n=82 (Jam).A
